Some love stories feel effortless, and Rachel Blanchard and Tracey Brown's began on a rainy afternoon overlooking the ocean in Newport. While vacationing together, the two visited an overlook off the oceanside cliff walk called The Waves. It was there, surrounded by the spray of the rolling waves along the East Coast shoreline, that Tracey proposed.
Their wedding day carried that same intimate, romantic energy.
Hosted at the stunning The Cypress House, Rachel and Tracey planned a wedding that blended timeless elegance with a light and airy garden-inspired aesthetic. Although the morning began with rain, clear umbrellas, a calm atmosphere, and an incredible vendor team transformed the day into something unforgettable.
One of the highlights of the day was working alongside Chloe, the coordinator at The Cypress House, whose professionalism and thoughtful approach helped every moment flow seamlessly. Even with changing weather, the day felt effortless, refined, and full of joy.
Rachel wore a breathtaking gown from Lillia's Bridal Boutique featuring delicate lace details. Paired with Kailee P Wedding Shoes, her bridal look perfectly complimented the elegant day. Hair and makeup by Tara Matos at A Beautiful Vision was absolutely flawless.
The bridesmaids wore a soft blend of pastel dresses that added beautiful dimension and softness to the wedding palette. Florals by Cypress Floral filled the venue with lush blooms including peonies and ranunculus in romantic pastel tones. Everywhere you looked, there were graceful floral touches that elevated the entire celebration.
Tracey looked classic and polished in attire from Men's Wearhouse, while the couple’s rings came from Zales, Mountz Jewelers, and Manly Bands.
Before the ceremony, Rachel and Tracey shared private vows beneath clear umbrellas by the pool. It was truly one of the sweetest and most emotional moments of the day. The soft rain created the dreamiest atmosphere for portraits, giving their images an editorial yet personal feel.
The ceremony took place beneath the tent at The Cypress House, surrounded by loved ones and glowing candles. Afterward, we captured elegant portraits of the bride and groom, wedding party, and family around the property. The patio by the pool brought such a sophisticated East Coast feel to the evening.
Dinner by Real Taste 570 was a guest favorite, featuring an incredible taco bar that added a fun and relaxed element to the refined celebration. Guests also enjoyed an ice cream truck by the Rollin’ Cones and pretzels by Jr’s before dancing the night away with entertainment by Twin Tiers Entertainment, who kept the dance floor packed all evening long.

Rachel and Tracey’s wedding was the perfect blend of luxury and timeless celebration. As a photographer serving central Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and destinations along the East Coast, these are the celebrations I love documenting most: thoughtful, graceful wedding days filled with genuine connection and refined details.
